I hope you all had a great summer. I trust you are looking forward to an exciting hockey season. I would like to take this opportunity to fill you in on the upcoming plans for the goalie clinics.

Goalie Evaluation/Try-Outs:

Saturday, Sept 27th 6:15 – 8:30 on BIG 2.

This is a two hour session for ALL the goalies. We will cover many skills and drills both with shooting and without.

Please have your name written on a piece of tape and affix it to your helmet. Bring your own water bottle with your name on it.

Goalie Clinics:

Last year we held 21 clinics spread out throughout the course of the season. This is our fifth year offering the goalies an opportunity to train and work on their skills in these 1 hr goalie clinics. Instead of committing all the ice up front, this year we will be scheduling the clinics at the same time team practices, games, and tournaments are being scheduled on a monthly basis. This approach gives the ice coordinators full visibility to the schedule and avoids conflicting ice times with games, tournaments or practices. Each month the schedule will be posted on the website for your review. We want to assure maximum attendance.

Attendance is mandatory.  This season receipt of $400 goalie credit will be tied to attendance at the goalie clinics.  With the exceptions of illness, injury or a goalie having a team ice conflict with the goalie clinic (ie. Practice or Game), receipt of the goalie credit will be prorated based upon attendance.  Attendance will be taken at every clinic.  Receipt of the goalie credit will be determined and credited at the end of the season.

There will be two groups of clinics. One group will be for the Squirts, Peewees, and Bantams. The other group will be for Mites. Mite clinics will not start until after Jan 1, 2009.

I look forward to working with all the goalies this season. We expect you to all work very hard and have fun learning this great position in hockey.  Please do not hesitate to call me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Vic Fabano
